What Do You Already Know About Your Topic?
Before you begin finding information, take time to think about what you know about the topic already.
- Have you read any books on the topic?
- Have you seen any movies about it?
- Have you looked at any web sites which have good information about the topic?
All of these are important to think about. Use the following KWL chart to help you list the things you already know and to think about what you need to research.
If you are very familiar with your topic, go back to your guiding question and rewrite it so that you will be able to research something you don't know much about. That will make your learning much more fun!
